Orgasm is a mystery – sometimes it comes quickly, sometimes it doesn’t come at all. We reveal a simple trick that will raise your climax to a whole new level.
There are a lot of things you can do to heat up the mood in bed even more. Moaning is definitely one of them – according to a new study by the pleasure brand Arcwave, it works not only during sex with others, but also with yourself.
Moaning during sex for better orgasms
Moaning in bed clearly signals that he or she likes what is happening: The Arcwave study, which surveyed 1,038 sex toy users (57 percent male and 43 percent female) from Germany, the U.S., Great Britain, Canada and France, also confirms that this makes sex even better for both parties.
- According to the survey, 82 percent of women said that their partner’s moaning increases their arousal. So they actively perceive that the man is communicating how much he enjoys the moment.
- For men, on the other hand, it is only 65 percent who are aware of the fact that they become more aroused by the moans of their sex partner.
“Moaning can actually relax or it can also increase tension. Generally, it serves as wordless communication during sex. Sometimes loud, sometimes breathed, moaning can accompany sex like a good movie score,” says Arcwave expert and urologist Volker Wittkamp.
“But be careful, these sounds can also be a lie. No one should be forced to do it, but no one should be embarrassed either.”
3 positions for hot sex
Generally speaking, women seem to have discovered moaning more than men: 95 percent of women and 85 percent of men moan during sex – when it comes to masturbation, 78 percent of women make sounds and only 60 percent of men.
How to make your orgasms even better
How does this little “gender moaning gap,” as sex toy manufacturer Arcwave describes it, come about? “In part, men suppress their sounds during sex because they might be embarrassed,” says urologist Volker Wittkamp.
And in fact, shame is also the decisive reason why men don’t make a sound, especially during masturbation love: According to the study, for example, every second man is afraid of being heard by someone when he moans (55 percent), and a third of the men even stated that they simply find moaning embarrassing and unpleasant.
At the same time, it seems worthwhile not to suppress one’s own voice even when putting one’s hand to it. The 60 percent of men who also moan while masturbating gave two main reasons for this: “because it’s fun” (91 percent) – “to make the orgasms more intense” (74 percent).
Conversely, this means: if you belong to the 40 percent of men who are currently quiet during sex with themselves, a few small sounds could make a big difference. And for those who need a jump start here: Most often, when asked what would make it easier for them to moan, men responded with “the use of sex toys.” Arcwave’s latest products – and – should help.
